In this article, we will explore that.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Diagnosing Breast Cancer with AI<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google\u2019s DeepMind Health developed an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/health.google\/caregivers\/mammography\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI system to detect breast cancer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from mammography <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/01\/02\/googles-deepmind-ai-beats-doctors-in-breast-cancer-screening-trial.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">more accurately with Imperial College London<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in nearly 29,000 women in UK and USA. The randomized controlled <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/journals\/landig\/article\/PIIS2589-7500(24)00267-X\/fulltext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clinical trial in Sweden on 105,934 women<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> demonstrated that another AI-supported screening system improved detection of breast cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Diagnosing Parkinson\u2019s Disease with AI<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Researchers at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/news.mit.edu\/2022\/artificial-intelligence-can-detect-parkinsons-from-breathing-patterns-0822\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) developed an AI software<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that could detect Parkinson\u2019s disease by analysing a person\u2019s nocturnal breathing. They developed a device that will collect information about the subject\u2019s breathing patterns via radio waves. The patterns are then analysed by AI, which could <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41591-022-01932-x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">detect the disease risks with higher confidence<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and helps to estimate disease\u2019s severity and progression.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Diagnosing Appendicitis with AI<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CT scans are typically used in aiding physicians to diagnose appendicitis. However, universal use of CT scans can be limited by resources or radiation risk. Recently, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wjes.biomedcentral.com\/articles\/10.1186\/s13017-023-00527-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI software has been deployed to detect acute appendicitis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in hospitals to reduce unnecessary surgery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In conclusion, AI software for healthcare information usually goes through intensive data training first and a subsequent validation stage. It can be more accurate and effective at diagnosing medical problems than a human doctor only when the AI algorithms are trained on the correct type of dataset, involved in the diagnostics at the correct stage of the clinical workflow, and have gone through a vigorous clinical research study on real human patients.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each person has unique biology, individualised clinical parameters and personal health characteristics.
